Every other Thursday, Brewed for Thought and BetterBeerBlog are teaming up for a piece called Hopinions. We will alternate who picks the topic and trade emails on the subject, two apiece. This week Pete’s at the helm and he chose the summer tradition of the beer festival. Continue reading Hopinions: What Makes a Craft Brewer?

With the Autumn Seasonal week well under way, it’s about time to get to a beer requested by a reader. So today I present, just for Drew, Sam Adam’s Octoberfest. Continue reading October in September

Last week I sang the praises of the Sam Adams specially designed beer glass. Recently, BevMo began stocking this glass and I was excited. Well, on my most recent trip to the warehouse beverage market, I went on a hunt or the glass. Continue reading The Sam Adams Glass

So the family piled into the car and off to Stout Brothers we went. Continue reading Happy St. Patrick’s Day: Stout Brothers

So, apparently, I’m pretty harsh on Sam Adams. Maybe I put down their beers once in a while. Does it mean I think they are bad people? Well it’s obvious they aren’t. Jim Koch choo-choo-choosed all of us for Valentine’s Day by deciding to “share” the bountiful hop contracts of Sam Adams with small brewers. Continue reading Well, Now I Feel Stupid

I have to apologize. Without being able to drink beer it really is hard to write about beer. A few stories have slipped through the cracks and I felt I should keep everyone up to date. So here are a few quick hits from various news articles. Continue reading Catching Up: News From Around the Brewing World
