Baseball is a great sport. Unfortunately, the Giants weren’t a great team this year. That didn’t stop me from finding a friend who was a fan of another struggling organization. Enter Esther, the liflong Orioles fan living in the Washington D.C. area. Typically, a wager would include a shipment of beer, but as shipping eats up winnings, this time we settled on a gift certificate.
The bet: Who wil have a better season record, the Giants or the Orioles
The wager: $25 Cost Plus Gift Certificate to be spent on alcohol.
The winner: Me!
In July it was looking pretty grim, but the Giants turned it around and were actually a fun team to watch down the stretch. The Orioles, well, let’s just say they didn’t finish too strong. Here was my haul from Cost Plus:
I’ve tried most of these beers before, but haven’t given them a proper review, so expect to see these hitting the site in coming days.
Didn’t finish too strong is being quite charitable… Certainly looks like you’ll enjoy your winnings. We must do this again – I know that next season will be different! (oops-did I just say that out loud?)
