Hot Like the Sun

When you head to work, you don’t always know what the day might have in store for you. Take for instance, today, when I set out to work riding my bike . The ride to work was fine, a little cool, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was the afternoon I had to fear.

I rode home today in 95 degree heat and not a cool breeze to be found. Needless to say, when I got home, I needed something to drink. Sure, water would make the most sense, but thanks to my computing abilities, a neighbor felt like thanking me for my assistance with a couple of Coronas. “It’s better than Bud, right?” I had to have one. I cracked a cold bottle and before I knew it, she was gone. I needed another, but this time I went through the routine and prepped a post for all of you.

As you can see, the Corona pours a light straw yellow. For some reason it seemed darker in the clear glass bottle. The aroma is slightly bitter, but mostly like a freshly tilled field. It washes down rather watery, a little sweet and finishes with a touch of those bitter hops. There’s a lot more flavor to the beer in the glass, but I’m not sure that’s a good thing. The first went down like water, but this one just isn’t as appealing.

So there you have it, macro lager on a hot day. Don was right, it’s better than Bud, but I don’t know what that means exactly. If you don’t already know about Corona, what can I say, that cave in the hills must be lonely. If it’s hot, and the beer is free, do it.
