Gotta love it when beer makes it’s way onto the television. Unfortunately, most beer shows are pretty bad. I got a text message from a friend a few days ago alerting me to a beer show on History Channel, but I ignored it, thinking it was the Modern Marvels show I had seen numerous times. Well, it wasn’t. it was The Works, a new series on History Channel.
So I missed The Works, but figured I could catch a rerun. Nothing. The next airing is Thursday morning and again during the day on Tuesday, twice. So set your DVR, or take the day off from work. An added bonus, this show is shot in high definition.
I’ve watched one other episode of this show, the topic was Sneakers. I have to say, the host is a bit of a dork, and the show can be a little like Sesame Street at times, but there is a ton of information, and I hope they do a good job with the topic. Reviews from fellow beer drinkers seem to be fairly good, so try and catch it, and let me know what you think.

Having watched the show, a few comments. The host is a tool. The craft and home segments of the beer industry get a nice spotlight and a good amount of respect. Some of the statements in the show are oversimplified, and I’m not big on how he treated marketing as such a large part of what makes beer. Nice to see the guys from Beer Advocate on there.
Good show, but still waiting for that beer documentary that really does the topic justice.
