Upcoming Events

With the Festival season coming up, I thought I would take some time to share a few upcoming events with everyone. Each is a little different, so check them out and drink some tasty brews.

Saturday, March 14, Fairfax Brewfest – $20 in davnace or $25 at the door. There are “only” 13 breweries represented at the brewfest, but there will be some excellent beers to try. New Belgium will be bringing their 30º Dunkleweiss which I’ve fallen in love with. Also, get a chance to try some of Lagunitas’ Undercover Shutdown Ale which should hit shelves shortly (unless it already has, anyone?). I’ve never been to the Fairfax brewfest, but according to people who would know, it’s a good time.

Thursday March 26, Bill Brand Memorial Birthday Celebration – Come down to the Bistro in Hayward for a celebration of the late Bill Brand’s birthday. the event promises “rare beer, appetizers, chocolates, toasts, and commaraderie” with all proceeds from the rare beers going to the Contra Costa Food Bank.

Friday, March 27, Battle of the Brews - Always a fun time in Santa Rosa, the Battle of the brews is all about local beer, food and finishes with some music. Part brew festival, part concert, this year the music will be provided by the Pat Jordan Band and Pepper. More details to come on this event, so stay tuned.

Saturday, April 11, HOP Rhizome Beer Fest – This is one I will definitely be attending as I’m looking to start my hop garden this year. BBQ, music and special hoppy beers will be on tap for this event, so come down and get your hop garden started. Or, just come and drink some beer.
